Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Buyers Collection (“Buyers Collection,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information through buyerscollection.com and the Buyers Collection application (the “Service”). Buyers Collection is operated by Steve Fill in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States.
1. Who the Service is for
The Service is a private, professional broker-to-broker network for approved yacht brokerages, boat dealerships and boat builders and their authorized team members. It is not intended for consumers or for personal, family or household use.
2. Information we collect
Account and company information you provide: your name, title, business email address, mobile phone number, professional license number and licensed state (where provided), password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider), company name, company type, website, primary location and office details, and your acceptance of these policies (including the version and time accepted).
Team information: email addresses of colleagues a company owner or manager invites, invitation status and team roles.
Professional content: Buyer Profiles (what a represented buyer is looking for, such as boat type, size, budget and location), Listings (boats you represent), broker notes, saved searches and alerts, Smart Match results, and broker-to-broker messages and contact requests.
Membership and billing records: plan, term dates, seat counts and records of payments made outside the Service (for example the payment date, amount, method and a reference such as an invoice or check number). We do not collect or store payment card or bank account numbers in the Service.
Marketing preferences: if you check a box asking for Buyers Collection updates, your name, email address, the consent wording and the time you agreed.
Communications: messages you send us and records of emails we send you (such as recipient, type, status and time).
Technical information: our hosting and authentication providers process technical data needed to operate and secure the Service, such as IP address, browser type, request logs and sign-in timestamps.
3. Buyer identity and contact details must not be entered
Buyers Collection is designed to share what a buyer wants, not who the buyer is. Members may store client names and contact details in a private Client record, visible only to the broker who added it and that company’s managers. Client details are never shared with other members, shown in search or matches, or seen by Buyers Collection staff in our admin tools. Do not put client details in shared fields such as Buyer Profile criteria, notes or messages; if they appear there, we may remove them. Members connect broker-to-broker.
4. Evaluation Workspace data stays in your browser
Approved companies that have not yet activated membership receive an Evaluation Workspace that uses fictional sample data. Anything you create or change in the Evaluation Workspace (and in the public example workspace) is stored only in your own browser’s local storage. It is not sent to or stored in our database, is not visible to other members and does not send emails or messages. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Production data — your account, company, Buyer Profiles, Listings, matches and messages in an activated workspace — is stored in our database.
5. How we use information
- to create, review and approve company accounts and verify professional eligibility;
- to provide the Service, including search, Smart Matching, match emails, messaging and team management;
- to authenticate users, keep accounts secure, prevent misuse and enforce our Terms;
- to administer memberships, seats, renewals and payment records;
- to send service and account emails (such as email confirmation, password reset, invitations and match notifications) and, only if you opted in, Buyers Collection updates;
- to respond to support requests, maintain records and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
6. What other members see
Within an activated workspace, approved members may see the criteria in active Buyer Profiles and Listings and may receive Smart Matches. Broker notes and the identity of the broker who owns a buyer profile are not exposed through buyer searches. Your professional contact details are shared with another member when you or they initiate a broker-to-broker contact through the Service. Company owners and managers can see their own team’s members and invitations.
7. Service providers
We use service providers to operate the Service, who process information on our behalf:
- Lovable / Lovable Cloud — application hosting, database, authentication and server functions;
- Lovable Emails — delivery of account, invitation and notification emails.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights, safety or the Service, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
8. Payments
The Service does not currently process payments. Membership fees are paid outside the Service under an order form, invoice or other written agreement, and we record only the details described in Section 2.
9. Cookies, local storage and analytics
We use your browser’s local storage for essential purposes: keeping you signed in and storing Evaluation/example workspace data. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics or tracking tools in the Service. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.
10. Retention
We keep account, company, membership and audit records for as long as the account is active and afterward as reasonably needed for legal, accounting, security and dispute purposes. Closed records may remain in your company’s history. You may ask us to delete your account; some records may be retained where required or permitted by law.
11. Security
We use access controls that limit each member to their own company’s data, hashed passwords managed by our authentication provider, encrypted connections and audit records of administrative actions. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information. Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly about any suspected unauthorized access.
12. Your choices and professional-account controls
You can review and update your profile and records in the Service. Company owners and managers can manage team members and invitations. You can unsubscribe from optional updates at any time by contacting us. Service emails required to operate your account may still be sent.
13. State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of or a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To make a request, email support@buyerscollection.com. We will verify your request before acting and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof of authorization.
14. Location of operation
Buyers Collection is operated from Florida, United States, and is intended for businesses in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
15. Children
The Service is for professionals and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
16. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, give notice through the Service or by email.
